The stakeholders in any major airport are a lot like the passengers who fill its terminals: they’re all trying to get to a different destination.
Just as one passenger might be headed home to visit family while another is jetting off to a business trip, airlines and airport managers may have different priorities, different goals, and different ideas about how to achieve them.
That’s where Vantage comes in. At airports around the world, we’ve built partnerships and helped steward ambitious works based on understanding, communication, and trust. By not just balancing priorities but aligning them, we’ve helped bring transformations to life in ways that benefit all involved – while creating enjoyable, memorable experiences for passengers.

There are a lot of moving parts to making these transformations happen.
That’s where we come in—we integrate all the decision making, analysis, and anything else that needs to be done to drive high-quality outcomes for multiple stakeholders.
A Successful Project Starts with Understanding
We’ve found that a little understanding goes a long way. Often, the path to a productive partnership starts in a simple place – listening and working to understand the priorities, needs, and concerns of all parties. That means we don’t just look at our partners’ immediate goals with a given relationship, but their broader, business-wide goals, and how all these priorities can fit together.
And that matters in an industry where the economic realities of business partners don’t always align. Airports, typically owned by a municipality or public entity, are accountable to the people of the region they serve as public assets. They aim to attract travelers, airlines, and commercial partners with a modern, attractive facility, which often requires upfront investment. Airlines, on the other hand, are private enterprises accountable to their customers, employees, and shareholders. They focus on building meaningful and productive routes while controlling costs. These differing priorities can sometimes lead to diverging priorities. Vantage helps find common ground between these two major stakeholders, working to achieve all their goals and balance competing priorities.
Shared Success for All
Of course, the end goal is shared success for all. Because when an airport is thriving, it can be an economic engine that benefits every stakeholder. Research has shown that for every million passengers, airports can create 2,000 to 4,000 jobs. And overall, U.S. commercial airports contribute over $1.4 trillion to the national economy, accounting for more than 7% of GDP.
This also includes the value that the airlines bring. When Patrick Heck, Vantage’s VP of Business Development, was working at Denver International Airport, his team discovered that every flight an airline operates at an airport, especially a hub airport, enhances the connectivity that fuels the region’s economic impact. Therefore, it is crucial for airports to understand how they can support the airline’s profitability and facilitate service to additional destinations.
Our Team Has Seen the Process From All Sides
Vantage stands out because of its people. Not only are we passionate about travel and creating outstanding passenger experiences, but we also have extensive experience with all aspects of complex, small- and large-scale infrastructure, including airlines, airports, financing and a deep understanding of the specific nuances of these projects in the markets they serve.
At Vantage, we see ourselves as integrators. That means listening to and learning from everyone —airlines, airports, regulators, passengers, and more. In all our efforts, we take time early in the process to meet with different groups, walk them through our proposals, and work to understand their unique needs and challenges. When we get everyone in the same room together, where we can see eye to eye and appreciate each other’s interests, we’re able to create solutions that deliver on their promise.
Every project is unique, but Vantage has a few key principles we bring to bear when working to create that shared value:
- Have a fundamental understanding of the investment the airlines are making in a project, and what they need to make a particular market successful.
- Listen to what airport owners are trying to achieve and be able to deliver the best possible outcome. As an example, with the LaGuardia Terminal B redesign, we proposed a fundamentally different approach to the overall terminal design that made airport operations more efficient while keeping the project on time and on budget.
- Lastly – and this is where Vantage really shines – work to truly understand the priorities of each partner in the airport ecosystem, from airlines to airport owners to all other stakeholders with a vested interest in the success of the airport, to ensure we are delivering a result that meets their needs and surpasses their expectations.
Our Relationships Go the Distance
Vantage is a long-term partner, distinguished by our commitment to enduring relationships rather than transient projects. Many of our agreements are designed to stand the test of time. For instance, our LaGuardia Terminal B management agreement extends for 30 years, through 2050. Recently, we extended our lease for the operations and management of Kamloops Airport until 2062, originally signed in 1997, and secured a 49-year lease extension at John C. Munro Hamilton International Airport. Vantage just announced significant terminal enhancements for Hamilton International, as part of a new strategic partnership with Porter Airlines to boost air service, enhance the guest experience, and generate employment and positive economic impact in the region.
Thanks to the global composition of our network, Vantage enjoys relationships with hundreds of airlines around the world. At our new $4.2 billion JFK Terminal 6 – under development now with the first gates opening in 2026 – we look forward to welcoming a group of international airlines that includes Aer Lingus, Air Canada, ANA, Austrian, Brussels Airlines, Cathay, Condor, JetBlue, Lufthansa, Norse, and Swiss – with more to come. We are working with each of these airlines to ensure that the new terminal meets and exceeds airline expectations for operational efficiency and guest expectations for service quality.
Our airline and airport facility partners know all the pieces, and we know how to fit them together. We foster long-term, mutually beneficial relationships rooted in deep understanding and experience. We aim to create a virtuous cycle where partners in an airport project can benefit from each other and grow together. They say they sky’s the limit. With Vantage Group, it’s only the beginning.
