As Vice President, Design and Construction, Derek Thielmann leads the critical construction phase of Vantage Group’s airport and infrastructure projects and is responsible for successfully delivering large-scale, multi-phased, fast track projects, including LaGuardia Terminal B and JFK Terminal 6.
Between 2016 and 2022, Derek was instrumental in managing Terminal B’s design build program, serving as the day-to-day construction liaison between the redevelopment’s operational and construction partners.
With 25 years of experience in the development and delivery of complex aviation and transportation projects, Derek previously held Director of Engineering and project management roles at Vancouver International Airport and at Vantage’s Lynden Pindling International Airport in The Bahamas, where he led the construction of a $410 million, three-phased terminal development.
