Greater Moncton International Airport Authority Highlights 2025 Performance and Future Growth at 2026 Annual General Meeting
The Greater Moncton International Airport Authority (GMIAA) highlighted strong operational performance and future growth plans at its 2026 Annual General Meeting, held May 5, 2026.
Guided by its vision of Connecting Atlantic Canada to the World, GMIAA continues to focus on safe, reliable operations while enhancing the passenger experience and supporting regional economic growth. In 2025, the airport (YQM) welcomed 656,246 passengers, maintaining steady traffic levels year-over-year, while advancing key strategic priorities across passenger experience, cargo development, infrastructure, and environmental stewardship.
Notable developments included expanded domestic connectivity, with new and returning seasonal routes to Toronto, Calgary, Edmonton, and Ottawa, as well as continued winter sun service. Cargo activity also strengthened, including 25 international flights exporting live lobster to Europe and Asia and the introduction of a new airline partner.
Investments in infrastructure and customer experience included the addition of two new passenger boarding bridges and new pre-security amenities, while ongoing sustainability initiatives supported the airport’s recertification in the Airport Carbon Accreditation program. These efforts included the introduction of electric vehicle charging stations, fleet electrification, and upgrades to energy-efficient airfield lighting.
Looking ahead, GMIAA is preparing for continued demand growth, including new 2026 routes and early planning for a future terminal expansion.
