Midway Partnership, the Vantage-led organization that manages the commercial program at Chicago Midway International Airport joined Chicago Mayor Brendan Johnson, members of the Chicago Department of Aviation (CDA), and Airport Dimensions to celebrate the grand opening of The Club MDW at Midway on September 25, 2024. This is the airport’s first-ever premium common-use lounge, offering enhanced amenities such as complimentary refreshments, various seating options, and workspaces with charging stations. Located near Gate B1 in the Central Market, the lounge is accessible to all travelers through a $50 day pass or memberships like Priority Pass. 

Operated by Airport Dimensions, Club MDW is a fantastic amenity that rounds out the great line-up of shopping, dining, and services offered at the airport. Composed of Vantage Group, SSP America, and Hudson, Midway Partnership focuses on creating a thoughtfully curated, locally inspired guest experience through restaurants, retail options, and premium amenities. 

 This opening is the latest major milestone in the transformation of Midway’s  concessions program. Since 2017, Midway Partnership has invested $75 million and introduced more than 70 new dining and retail brands to the airport. The total concessions area has increased by 30,000 square feet, and the number of concessions jobs at the airport has almost doubled from 700 to 1,400. The program also boasts a track record of participation by Airport Concessions Disadvantaged Business Enterprises, which is industry-leading at nearly 60%. 

 The lounge features a design inspired by Chicago’s architectural history and includes a bar, work and relaxation areas, and expansive windows with airfield views. It can accommodate up to 100 people and operates daily from 4 a.m. to 10 p.m. The lounge also highlights local culture with offerings from local breweries and distilleries. The opening follows the completion of a major phase of the $400 million Midway Modernization Program, emphasizing Chicago’s commitment to enhancing its airports.
