Essential infrastructure upgrades
Vantage led all phases of financing, project management, and construction of the airport’s runway overlay, a new airfield emergency fire hall, an aircraft refueling system, and an additional 18 passenger loading bridges.
Guest experience enhancements
Commercial space for shopping, restaurants, and amenities has expanded by 158% at the airport, and grown to include the Caribbean’s first walk-through duty free boutique and an immersive Jamaican-inspired retail and food & beverage experience.
New airlines and services
Working with partners, MBJ significantly diversified its airline relationships and international destinations to maximize year-round tourism.
This upgrade to Automated Border Control Systems will not only reduce passenger queuing but also lay the foundation for a future-ready airport that can accommodate the growing demands of air travel. The implementation of these technological advancements represents a significant leap forward in our ongoing efforts to redefine the passenger experience.
Sangster International Airport held its fifth annual Charity Run/Walk, part of its longstanding community engagement efforts focused on education, youth, sustainable development, and community growth.
Each year, funds raised go directly to members of the community in need, supporting essentials like new computers for mathematics labs and tuition assistance. In 2025, the event broke records across the board, welcoming 110 sponsors, more than 3,000 participants, and raising a record $190,000, half of which was allocated to rebuilding two schools in Western Jamaica impacted by Hurricane Melissa, which struck the island in October. The event reflects MBJ’s deep investment in the people and communities it serves.
Sangster International Airport is the proud recipient of the World Travel Awards’ Best Caribbean Airport for 16 consecutive years.
