Greater Moncton Roméo LeBlanc International Airport | YQM

Vantage welcomed Greater Moncton Roméo LeBlanc International Airport (YQM) to the network in 1997, making it one of our first locations. YQM is one of Atlantic Canada’s fastest-growing airports and a strategic transatlantic cargo hub.

Optimizing Passenger and Cargo Activity

Vantage oversees the airport’s major capital expansion projects, optimizing facilities for both passenger traffic and cargo operations.

New Terminal Building

Vantage oversaw the $28 million (CAD) construction of the airport’s 85,000 square foot terminal building, which can accommodate up to one million passengers per year. The terminal build expanded square footage by 50% and resulted in a 70% increase in aircraft ramp space.

Airport Operations Facility

A 34,000 square foot airport operations building consolidated all onsite operations functions into one energy-efficient facility, which also provides extended capacity for the growing domestic and international air freight markets served by YQM.

Airfield Rehabilitation

A multiyear, $24 million (CAD) airfield rehabilitation program delivered by Vantage saw the extension of one of the airport’s runways to better accommodate international air freighters. And recent expansions to airport aprons and de-icing pads will support smoother winter weather operations.

YQM progressed well through recovery in 2023 and we’re finishing the year on a high note with the completion of two important projects that are making our airport even better. We’ll be able to eliminate bottlenecks and enable the airport for continued passenger and cargo growth to move Canadian goods to international markets more efficiently, including live and fresh seafood.
